STUDIO

Built by people who’ve done the work.

XI Studios began with a simple observation: stories moving between Canada and China were being told in only one language, through only one culture, and losing their shape in translation. We built this studio to be the bridge — a place where development, production, and delivery happen natively in both.

TWO FOUNDERS

The studio is led by two founders whose careers cover the full map of the work. One is a Canadian creative and executive producer with more than twenty screen credits, award‑nominated primetime drama, and a slate of executive‑produced features. The other is a classically trained Chinese stage artist and educator, a former broadcast journalist, and the founder of award‑recognized theatre and arts‑education work seen from Edinburgh to Avignon. Together they have been the talent, the producers, the directors — and they built the studio they always wanted to work with.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Craft first — every project, in any language, is held to conservatory standards. Discretion is professional — we protect our collaborators’ privacy the way we protect our own. And two languages, natively — our work isn’t translated; it’s written, performed, and produced in both.

HOW WE WORK

Small by design. For each project we assemble the right bilingual team — performers, crews, partners — and stay accountable from the first conversation to final delivery, in Vancouver, in China, and everywhere the story travels.

The studio is the people. Meet us in a conversation.
